RECEPTION ON THE OCCASION OF NATIONAL HOLIDAY IN THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Belgrade, His Excellency Angel Dimitrov, made a reception in his Residence in Belgrade on the occasion of the National holiday of that country. He expresses his belief that Serbia and Bulgaria will be of great use to one another, but also that they should be a good example of one good cooperation between two countries in the region. `Relations of Bulgaria and Serbia, during the recent period are on the good level and I think that 2015 will be the year of intensive connections in all spheres, said Dimitrov in his statement to Agency `Tanjug`. Representatives of diplomatic core, international missions in Belgrade, local self governments, cultural and public life of Serbia were present at the reception. President of Palilula City Municipality in Nis, Boban Dzunic, while congratulating National Holiday of Bulgaria, Angel Dimitrov, thanked for the support to the Embassy and Consulate in Nis in realization of project activities from the programme of Neighborhood cooperation Serbia-Bulgaria. Partnerships on the projects with the cities and municipalities in Bulgaria , emphasized Dzunic, significantly contributed to the improvement of connections of local communities in the Region and strengthening cultural, social and economic cooperation of the people of two countries. The Ambassador Dimitrov pointed that Bulgaria supports our country in European integration. `I am certain that we will be of mutual use to one another and that could be the example of good neighborhood relations` emphasized the Ambassador. Dimitrov announced that Bulgarian president Rosen Plevnelijev in 10 days will arrive in official visit to our country on the call of the president Tomislav Nikolic.`Last year we celebrated 135 years of establishing diplomatic relations of Bulgaria and Serbia. On this occasion we prepared on exhibition on that subject`, said the Ambassador Dimitrov. Bulgarians celebrate National Holiday March 3 when in 1878 San Stefano peace treaty was reached after the completion of the Russian -Turkish war. Immediately after the renewing of its statehood, Bulgaria renewed the relations with the neighbors -Ottoman Empire, Serbia and Romania.
